Traditionally, high volume spay and neuter surgeries have occurred at a fixed location or in a mobile van.
The MASH Operational concept is adding another dimension to SpaySA's approach to reaching the maximum number of San Antonio citizens who need and want our services but have had difficulty reaching our facilities.
The MASH concept allows us to pack all of our surgical equipment and set up a surgery suite in a church hall, gym or civic center. The flexibility of this approach allows us to bring more surgical services directly into the neighborhood.
We believe that this will be another vital tool in reaching the City's No-Kill initiative.
We are planning on an operating schedule of 3 days a week and can do 30 to 100 surgeries per day. Currently, we are looking for locations in the community where we could bring our MASH Unit services.
